Defiance Actions

The preferred actions for use on our rifles are those built by Glen Harrison at Defiance Machine. Glen was the original founder or Nesika Bay actions. His actions have many improvements and options available that few other actions can match. Some of the more important features:
-one piece bolt/handle- entire bolt, including the bolt handle are machined our of one solid piece of steel. No welded or soldiered bolt handles to break off.
- 8-40 scope mount screw, compared to the much smaller 6-48 used by most other
-mini-16 extractor for flawless extraction
-double ejectors for improved ejection performance
-numerous options on magazine ports, ejection ports, rear tangs and bolt knobs, all designed around the specific cartridge and the intended use of the rifle.

STILLER “PREDATOR” ACTION:

This action is a custom built action by Stiller Custom Machine, these actions are built to extremely close tolerances and do not need to be accurized or trued. Both the Long and Short action models have an additional .1” magazine length built in to accommodate the short mag cartridges and the magnum cartridges. This allows the bullets to be left out closer to the lands for increased accuracy, with out milling or modifying a standard action. On the WSM models, they also modify the ejection port to allow for better ejection of the short fat cartridges. The “foot print” of the Predator is the same as a Remington 700, so any stock; trigger and scope mounts for the Remington can be used on the Predator.

FACTORY ACTIONS

We will gladly build your rifle based on a trued factory action such as the Rem 700 or Winchester 70. But, we encourage customers to take a close look at the price difference and end product compared to starting with a custom action. It takes extra machining time to make the factory actions true and have all the other features that a custom action has. STOCK OPTIONS

We will install the brand name stock, style and color of your choice.
We highly recommend stocks from Lone Wolf rifle stocks. Lone Wolf also makes an all carbon stock that weights just 10 oz.- (see composite titanium rifle)

We have had good luck with Badger Ordnacne, HS Precision and a new detachable system from Bettin Custom Guns that will be comming out soon.

BARRELS

We only use cut rifled barrels by Satern Custom Machining. We carbon wrap them in our shop under a licensing agreement with Advanced Barrel Systems. We have found Satern’s barrels superior to any other barrel we have used.

METAL FINISH
CERAMIC COATING

This is the most resistant metal coating currently on the market. It comes in a wide variety of colors and will handle ANY weather extreme thrown at it. We have found it to be significantly more scratch and chip resistant then the previous gun coating products we have used, and now recommend it on ALL our rifles. This process takes some specialized equipment and knowledge, so we are now sending the parts that need coating to Falcon Gun Finishing. SCOPE MOUNTS

The mounts/ring system that we have found to be the best, are those made by Seekins Precision. They make extremely high quality picatinny one piece mounts and very nice aluminum rings.

The other mounts that we use are Tally Aluminum one-piece – The ring and the mount are one piece so there is no movement between the ring and the base. These mounts are very tough and only weigh 1.5oz.

MISC. OPTIONS

Sako extractor installed on Rem 700-$125

Muzzle brakes- We custom make a Vias style muzzle brake out of titanium. Other brakes can be installed on request.
