ACTIONS

Stiller Predator actions are our preferred action for a custom rifle. Other high quality custom actions can be used upon request.

STILLER “PREDATOR” ACTION:

This action is a custom built action by Stiller Custom Machine, these actions are built to extremely close tolerances and do not need to be accurized or trued. Both the Long and Short action models have an additional .1” magazine length built in to accommodate the short mag cartridges and the magnum cartridges. This allows the bullets to be left out closer to the lands for increased accuracy, with out milling or modifying a standard action. On the WSM models, they also modify the ejection port to allow for better ejection of the short fat cartridges. The “foot print” of the Predator is the same as a Remington 700, so any stock; trigger and scope mounts for the Remington can be used on the Predator. FACTORY ACTIONS

We will gladly build your rifle based on a trued factory action such as the Rem 700 or Winchester 70. But, we encourage customers to take a close look at the price difference and end product compared to starting with a custom action. It takes extra machining time to make the factory actions true and have all the other features that a custom action has. STOCK OPTIONS

We will install the brand name stock, style and color of your choice.
We highly recommend stocks from Lone Wolf rifle stocks. Lone Wolf also makes an all carbon stock that weights just 10 oz.- (see composite titanium rifle)

BARRELS

We highly recommend and utilize cut rifled barrels on all or our rifles. We feel that the consistency and tolerances are much better in a cut rifled barrel and the steel stress on these barrels is non-existent. We use and have excellent results with barrels from:
Rock Creek, Krieger, Bartlein and Satern. All barrels are match grade barrels made of stainless steel or chrome moly. The carbon wrapping system by Advanced Barrel Systems produces a barrel with the same stiffness and accuracy of a steel bull barrel with the weight of a sporter barrel.

METAL FINISH

We are now offering 2 finish options for the metal work on our rifles:

Sand blast finish
This finish is a sand blasted finish on stainless steel actions and barrels. It results in a “French gray” type of look that is non-reflective and can be cleaned up by simply wiping with gun oil or WD-40. This matches well to stainless colored floor plates etc. Keep in mind that stainless steel WILL rust, it is just much more resistant to rusting then chrome moly steel and doesn’t pit as badly.

CERAMIC COATING

This is the most resistant metal coating currently on the market. It comes in a wide variety of colors and will handle ANY weather extreme thrown at it. We have found it to be significantly more scratch and chip resistant then the previous gun coating products we have used, and now recommend it on ALL our rifles. This process takes some specialized equipment and knowledge, so we are now sending the parts that need coating to Falcon Gun Finishing. SCOPE MOUNTS

The mounts that come standard on our guns are Tally Aluminum one-piece – The ring and the mount are one piece so there is no movement between the ring and the base. These mounts are very tough and only weigh 1.5oz.

Burris signature rings are another very good ring that has a plastic insert that eliminates stress on the scope tube. These in conjunction with a one piece steel mount by Farrel industries is standard on target/varmint rifles.
